Small Groups
The
"Companions In Christ"
meet in the homes of its members on a rotation basis. They meet
on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month from 7:00 p.m. until about
10:00 p.m. The topics of study vary from month-to-month as
this group also rotates the responsibility for presenting the topic.
All of the members in this group have grown children. Some are
retired and others are working.
The
"Women of Faith"
meet in the home of Rose Trimble. Currently, this group has 5
women who meet every Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
A devotional book by Patsy Clairmont called "All Cracked Up" is the
material being used. Because this is al all female group, its
emphasis is on fellowship and support of women who are in the midst
of raising children. Childcare is also available at the
Trimble home.
Wisdom Seekers
is a brand new Group that will have
its first meeting on March 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the church. This
group plans to meet two times a month on Tuesday mornings.
Their study materials will focus on the years after retirement such
as: A Faith for All Seasons, Aging Gracefully,
Keeping the Joy in the Journey, A Bible Study for Life's
Changes, Fly Away, and some programs from CCN.
New Group!
This group will meet for the
first time on Sunday, April 15, at the home of Roger and Cherity
Freeze. The gathering will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end around
8:00 p.m. You are invited to bring your children as childcare
will be provided. Topics of interest for this group are
Christian parenting and marriage.
Other.
Is there a need you have that you'd like to see offered through a
covenant group? Let us know your need and we'll see how we
can help you meet it.
The beauty of all of these groups is
that the sense of community does not end when the meeting ends.
The members of these groups pray for one another during the week.
They are also there to support one another in the difficult times.
The key here is caring and commitment. The possibilities for
types of family cell groups are endless. Can you come up with
other ideas for types of cell groups than the ones mentioned above?
Are you interested in building relationships that can enhance your
life and your spiritual walk? If the idea of building
relationships with like-minded Christians appeals to you, then you
need to take part in this new ministry. For more information
regarding any of the small groups, please contact the church office
at 224-7364 and ask for Lynn Brown.
